Has your umbilical cord been
severed? Consider Paul, the Apostle, his umbilical cord was not severed until
he was a grown man:
Ga 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated [severed] me from my mother’s womb, and called
me by his grace, 16 To reveal his
Son in me, …..
In his prior existence as
Saul (with his umbilical cord still attached) we read that he committed many
atrocious acts in the name of religion:
Ac 7:58 And cast him [Stephen, the deacon] out of the city, and stoned him:
and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was
Saul.
Ac 8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church,
entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to
prison.
Ac 9:1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and
slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the
synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women,
he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
Saul, however, finally had
his umbilical cord severed from his mother’s womb (i.e., the old nature given
to the human race via Adam and Eve) when Jesus Christ met him on the road to
Ac 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near
His umbilical cord now
severed, Paul was able to see himself for what he really was…the chief of
sinners and the persecutor of the true
1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy
of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of
whom I [Paul] am chief.
Ga 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation [way of life] in time past in the Jews’
religion, how that beyond measure I [Paul]
persecuted the
Has God severed your umbilical cord from Adam and Eve? If He has then you can rejoice and sing His praises
even as the Psalmist:
Ps 71:5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou
art my trust from my youth. 6 By thee have I been holden [sustained] up from the womb: thou art he
that took [cut, sever] me out of my
mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. 7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art
my strong refuge. 8 Let my mouth be
filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
The end.
